Sunday Kind of Love

I'm a self-proclaimed sucker for the kind of snowstorm that brings everything to a halt, which we get just about once a year in OK. I love them because when we're stuck in close quarters it gives us a chance to just be together without distraction or other obligations. As long as you can keep off the cabin fever, I can think of very few things more romantic than the simplicity of being stranded at home with your hunny. We brought the snow indoors by creating an installation with 180 strands of marshmallows to create an added space above the table and to serve as a backdrop for photos and a ceremony. It gave interesting texture and a light, fluffiness that was both playful and romantic. We added softness and contrast through textures in everything from the gorgeous gown designed by the ever-talented Meg Guess, diy yarn garland, powdered sugar and the rustic and completely charming venue, White Dog Hill.

The above photo is probably one of my all time favorites. I love it!

We wanted to create the kind of environment that felt so easy, comfortable and full of warmth. We did this by incorporating all the great textures and staples of a perfect, wintery Sunday morning at home. We replaced the traditional cake table and dessert bar with mountains of pancakes, crepes, doughnut holes and other brunchy sweets. We're kinda huge fans of breakfast bars, whether it's a mid-morning ceremony or a midnight snack for all of your party-hardy wedding guests.

Rebecca's Silver Rose designed all of the floral arrangements, and I think I speak for everyone when I say she won MVP for the day. She always does a spectacular job of helping brides pick out the perfect flowers for their day, and she did not disappoint on this day. The richness of the colors, unexpected texture of the cotton and her creative use of dried gourds to hold small arrangements were all so perfect! She left no detail unattended as you can even see in the small arrangements on each Pottery Barn place setting.

The stationery is a sneak peak suite from ourever growing wedding stationery collection by Wednesday. Brides can customize this suite and others with their info for their big day!
